Dan Moody, III is a Partner and Managing Director at Moody Rambin, bringing more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate development, investment, and financing. He oversees project acquisition, development, asset management, financing and disposition, with a focus on creating long-term value across the firm’s portfolio and partnerships.
Throughout his career, Dan has overseen the development of more than 2.5 million square feet of retail space, 1.5 million square feet of industrial space, 2.2 million square feet of office, 2,600 residential lots and 500 multi-family units within Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida and Utah. His notable retail developments include Town & Country Village, Woodforest Square, The Shops at Bella Terra and Town Centre at Cedar Lodge. Town & Country Village is home to 90 national and local retailers and continues to serve as a prominent destination in west Houston.
Dan has also led the development of numerous build-to-suit projects for national tenants, including WorldCom, Office Depot, Whataburger, Washington Mutual, The Sports Authority, and Whole Foods. Among his notable projects is the 400,000-square-foot EGL Global Logistics distribution facility in Miami, Florida, which received the Florida Associated Builders and Contractors’ 2006 Excellence in Construction Award. More recently, he completed Town Centre I and Town Centre II, two LEED Gold-certified office buildings totaling 430,000 square feet within the Town & Country development and adjacent to CityCentre in west Houston. The Town Centre development received the Urban Land Institute’s 2017 Houston Development of Distinction Award. Dan continues to oversee the development and management of Moody Rambin’s owned assets and strategic partnerships, bringing a long-term perspective and hands-on approach to the firm’s investment and development activities.
A fourth-generation Houstonian, Dan is deeply committed to his family and the Houston community. He and his wife of 37 years, Kim, and their daughter, Makell, are active members of River Oaks Country Club and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Dan has held several leadership roles at River Oaks Country Club, serving on its Board of Directors from 2011 to 2013, as President in 2013, and as Chairman of the Membership Committee in 2014. The Moody family remains actively engaged in Houston-area charitable organizations, supporting causes that positively impact the lives and futures of young people throughout the community.
Dan is actively engaged in civic and community organizations throughout Houston. He serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Capital Bank, where he has played an instrumental role in the bank’s strategic expansion, including its successful five-bank acquisition initiative. He has also served on the Board of Directors for Tax Reinvestment Zone No. 17 and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the North Park Public Utility District. A longtime member of River Oaks Country Club, Dan served as Club President in 2013 after previously serving on its Board of Directors, reflecting his commitment to leadership and service both within the business community and beyond.
